Sirovilla Board

Sirovilla is governed by a skills-based voluntary Board, which meets monthly (other than January) and is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organisation.

The Board is responsible for Strategic and Corporate Governance which ensures the longevity, financial and social sustainability and on-going viability of the Villages.

    Social planner consultant with strong experience in social infrastructure needs and strategic planning. Kate has recently worked with Hal Bisset and John Thomson to develop the City of Greater Geelong Social Housing Plan 2018 - 2014. Kate joined the Board in 2015.

    Cynthia has over 30 years of experience in the not-for-profit and philanthropic sectors in the United States and Australia.

    Cynthia brings knowledge and understanding of direct service delivery, program development and management, evaluation, technical assistance and training, fundraising and grantmaking.

    Cynthia is currently General Manager of the Anthony Costa Foundation, a family foundation in the Geelong region.

    Michael brings financial management experience from an extensive career with not for profit aged and acute care providers in regional and metropolitan settings. He has also been a member of a not for profit community based Board. Michael joined the Board in 2021.

    - Board Member - BA Town Planning

    Brydon joined the Board in 2019. Brydon has worked in the Geelong region over his career including as Manager Planning & Development at Surf Coast Shire and General Manager Development & Community Services at Colac Otway Shire. Brydon successfully completed the Committee for Geelong - Leaders for Geelong Program in 2013-2015 and currently operates a consultancy business assisting Local Government and private clients with land use planning applications and projects. Brydon has a keen interest in affordable housing and social infrastructure development.

    Paul has been a Board member since 2019. Paul has held Senior Management roles in Local Govt, Disability Services and Education. He has led successful teams and projects in Community Development, Social Planning, Customer Services, Infrastructure Planning and Asset Management and Disability Services.

    Shirley, a qualified and practicing lawyer, lives in Geelong and considers that volunteer community involvement is one way she can contribute to bettering the lives and welfare of members of our community. Shirley joined the Board in 2019.

    Jessica Connor Kennedy

    Jessica brings to the board experience in strategy, team performance, organisational design and community engagement across areas including health, education and agriculture. Jessica has led large-scale democratic engagement processes for government agencies and non-government authorities and has supported organisations through periods of community outrage and crisis, facilitating constructive communication and resolving conflict. Jessica now runs a consultancy, whilst previous roles include Consumer Engagement Manager and Manager of Spiritual Care at Barwon Health. She has also been a board member of a charity organisation and is committed to social justice. Jessica joined the board in 2023.

    Robyn is an experienced executive leader and throughout her career has worked in both government and healthcare settings including Ballarat Health Services, City of Ballarat, Surf Coast Shire and City of Greater Geelong.   Robyn’s experience and leadership strengths include strategic planning, stakeholder relationship development, building team culture and performance and governance.   Her professional roles have enabled her to use her passion for working with people and communities to improve social equity and health & wellbeing outcomes.  Starting her career in nursing Robyn has continued her professional development by completing a Master of Business Administration and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

    - Board Member - BE / BCom, Grad Dip PM, GAICD

    Project professional with 20+ years large project and operations experience, with a strong background in infrastructure, mining and O&G industries. Simon has a keen interest in regional infrastructure and affordable housing; bringing knowledge in risk management, financial/commercial controls, and process governance to the board.
