About

Sirovilla Inc. was initially established over 50 years ago by the Social Club of the CSIRO, with Sirovilla Highton first opening in 1975.  The sixty-four 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units were built in stages, with the most recent units (Stages 6 & 7) along with the Sirovilla Highton Community Hall and Offices funded through the Victorian Government’s Social Housing Program in 2008.

Sirovilla then acquired Sirovilla Anglesea (eighteen 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom unit) retirement village only 1km from the main shopping precinct and moments from the Anglesea beach along with the management of  Sirovilla Lorne (sixteen 1-bedroom units) known locally as “Lorne Village” and Sirovilla Point Lonsdale,  Eric Tolliday Units (sixteen 1-bedroom units) on the Bellarine Community Health site opposite Point Lonsdale beach.

Sirovilla follows are private community housing model and is not operationally funded by either the state or federal government.  Sirovilla Retirement Villages provides affordable, long-term housing for seniors aged 67 years or older, who receive the Centrelink Aged Pension and are able to live independently in a village environment. Unlike traditional retirement villages, residents are offered 1 or 2-bed units under a secure “lease-for-life” model, offered on a “next on list” based on application date order.

The Sirovilla model is structured to be affordable to those who rely predominately on a Centrelink Aged Pension income with rents that only increase annually in line with pension increases.    Applying to be placed on the Sirovilla Waiting List is free.  For more information on how Sirovilla works, please read our detailed Frequently Asked Questions section or apply now to go on our Wait List.
