Sirovilla with the support of Geelong Sustainability, Winki Energy and Too Hot To Handle – Heating & Cooling has implemented a large capital project in Sirovilla Retirement Village Anglesea aimed at both making our villages more sustainable and reducing the cost-of-living pressures on residents.
Each unit at Anglesea is being fitted with 10x 440W Solar panels to form a 4.4kW system which will produce an estimated 5,921 kWh per year, which based on the information provided to us we estimate residents will conservatively save between 50 to 65% on their power bills per year.
In addition to solar all Anglesea units will have their old resistive heating element hot water systems replaced by Reclaim hot water systems – the most energy efficient heat pump hot water units available on the market – that use 60 to 75% less electricity to run. This will deliver significant electricity savings for residents which is compounded by the heat pumps being mostly powered by the free solar energy during the day.
